This website is pretty awesome for younger archeologist enthusiasts!
The homepage features engaging questions that target their younger audience into potentially being interested in archeology.
“Do you like to dig in the dirt? Find things that are lost? Put pieces together? Figure out stories from clues? Learn about the past? These are all things archeologists do—maybe you're one, too!”
These questions make archeologist seems personable and fun! It also disputes the idea that archeologists run around like Indiana Jones. They do use the angle of “solving mysteries”, but they are not being unrealistic with their audience.
This website effectively explains to a younger audience what archeologists do and the certain specializations in the field. They encourage kids to do their own lab work, and dig around their backyards.
The National Park Service created this website to encourage kids to become involved in particular careers. This website is a great idea to get kids engaged in outdoor activities in general. Many in the younger generation would not think to g outside and play, they are cooped up in front of a TV. This presentation of archeology is not deceiving, and still presents it as a fun profession.
