This website connects the love of travel in Europe and archaeology. It is often difficult to visualize archaeological sites, even when looking at photographs. The best way to truly engage our past through ruins and material history is by absorbing its beauty through the senses. This website provides a user friendly way to search for archeological sites throughout Europe. It's creators, a small team of web designers and an archaeologist, are clearly the backbone behind this work in progress. Although only a small selection of European countries are currently available, it is clear that the website is growing and adding new countries as it matures. The information that is available is thorough and even includes valuable information such as admission prices, guide options, etc. On top of the site guides, there is a blog and a photo gallery that further engage archeology enthusiasts. The layout is quite simple, but something about it's drabness is comforting. The feeling reminds me of looking out at the desert. Anyway, although this website has a long way to go to completion, its potential is undeniable and it is a reliable source for finding archaeological sites to visit in Europe!Wednesday, October 17, 2012
